Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to receive a score of a perfect of 10 during the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci when she was just seven years old. First competing in the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969, she was 13th. In 1970, she was crowned champion. In her very first international competition in 1972, she came out on top with three gold medals. In 1975, she took home four golds and one silver medal in her debut senior international contest. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. In 1976 she became the first female athlete in the world who used a double backwards salto for a dismount off the parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment field by performing in the form of a figure skater. Along with her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol started her entertainment career in her teens. She began her professional career by performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performances.
